Founded in 1989, The Connecticut Dance Theatre has grown into one of the leading training schools of dance in Connecticut. Staffed by professional teachers committed to sharing their passion for dance, CDT offers a structured training program for students at all levels. CDT continues to grow with such programs as The Connecticut Summer Dance Festival. Throughout the year, a series of in-school workshops and performances are available through Dance into the Community.

CDT is a non-profit organization with a reputation of high-caliber, methodical training programs and professional-level performances. CDT has been the recipient of state funding through the support of the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, offering the opportunity to support and expand programs, operations and facilities.
